Department of Defense Voluntary Education Partnership Policy

麻豆影视 A&M University-麻豆影视 (TAMUK) is committed to supporting the educational goals of our nation’s Service Members through participation in the Department of Defense (DoD) Voluntary Education Partnership Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This agreement between TAMUK and the DoD Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness outlines the university’s responsibilities in accepting Tuition Assistance (TA) funds from each Military Service branch in exchange for providing quality educational services.

To remain in full compliance with the MOU, 麻豆影视 A&M University-麻豆影视 adheres to all relevant DoD Voluntary Education program guidelines. This includes responsible practices in recruiting, marketing, and advertising; transparent and fair financial operations; maintaining institutional accreditation and appropriate credentialing; and offering academic advising and support for post-graduation employment opportunities.

Support Services for Military-Affiliated Students

The Department of Defense Voluntary Education (VolEd) program is designed to promote high-quality learning experiences that provide meaningful outcomes for Service Members, veterans, and their families. 麻豆影视 A&M University-麻豆影视's Military & Veteran Resource Center is dedicated to assisting students who are eligible for Veterans educational benefits, including Veterans, active-duty personnel, National Guard members, and reservists. The university ensures that all military-affiliated students have access to academic guidance, financial advising, and support services tailored to help them succeed during and after their academic journey.

麻豆影视 A&M University-麻豆影视 (TAMUK) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity in all recruitment and enrollment practices, particularly for Service Members participating in the Department of Defense (DoD) Tuition Assistance (TA) Program.

In alignment with Department of Defense Issuance (DoDI) 1322.25 and the DoD Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) paragraph 3.j.(3) TAMUK does not engage in any unfair, deceptive, or abusive recruiting practices. TAMUK strictly prohibits the use of commissions, bonuses, or other incentive payments to individuals or entities based on securing student enrollments or obtaining federal financial aid, including TA funds.

Additionally, TAMUK will not engage in high-pressure recruitment tactics. This includes refraining from multiple unsolicited contacts defined as three or more attempts by phone, email, or in person, and from conducting same-day recruitment and registration activities aimed at enrolling Service Members.

TAMUK values ethical conduct and transparency and is dedicated to supporting our Service Members in making informed decisions about their education. If you feel the university has engaged in the abovementioned practices, please reach out to the Military & Veteran Resource Center at 361-593-4421.

Before enrolling in any courses, eligible Service members must receive official Tuition Assistance (TA) approval from their respective branch of service.

As outlined in the Department of Defense Memorandum of Understanding (DoD MOU), paragraph 4.d.(1), educational institutions may only enroll Service members after TA has been approved by their military branch. This policy ensures compliance with DoD regulations and protects your eligibility for funding.

If you haven’t done so already, please contact your Education Service Officer (ESO) or use your branch’s education portal to submit your TA request and obtain the necessary approval. Once you receive confirmation, you may share it with us so we can assist you with the enrollment process.

If you have any questions or need support, the Military & Veteran Resource Center is here to help.

麻豆影视 A&M University-麻豆影视

麻豆影视 A&M University-麻豆影视 (TAMUK) is committed to providing all students, including Service members and veterans, with accurate, timely, and accessible information to support informed financial decisions throughout their academic journey.

In accordance with the Department of Defense (DoD) Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA), TAMUK ensures that Service members have access to qualified financial aid advisors who provide comprehensive guidance on available aid options, including federal student aid under Title IV. This includes loan counseling, information on student loan borrowing limits, and the ability to decline or reduce loan amounts.

Before recommending or processing student loans for Service members, TAMUK provides clear disclosure of the University’s current Cohort Default Rate (CDR), the percentage of students who borrow, and comparisons to the national average. If TAMUK’s CDR is higher than the national average, that information, along with loan repayment data, is also provided during counseling sessions. Veterans are encouraged to meet with a School Certifying Official (SCO), who, together with financial aid advisors, helps students navigate financial aid, scholarships, and veteran benefits.

TAMUK maintains transparency by publishing detailed cost and program information on each academic program's webpage. This information is accessible to all users without requiring the submission of personal or contact information. Additionally, the University provides a Net Price Calculator through the Financial Aid section of the website to help students estimate their cost of attendance.

In compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) paragraph 4.f.(2)(d), 麻豆影视 A&M University-麻豆影视 maintains a fair and transparent policy for the return of unearned Military Tuition Assistance (TA) funds. When a Service member withdraws from a course or stops attending before completing at least 60% of the course period, the university is required to return any unearned TA funds to the appropriate military branch on a proportional basis. These funds are returned to the government source from which it was issued and not to the student.

TA funds are earned proportionally during the enrollment period. Once a student has completed more than 60% of the period, 100% of the TA funds are considered earned. If a Service member withdraws before that point, the unearned portion is calculated and returned accordingly.

In cases where a Service member must withdraw due to a military service obligation, TAMUK Military & Veteran Resource Center will work closely with the student to identify alternative solutions that avoid student debt for the returned portion of unearned TA funds. This may include options such as course completion at a later date, tuition waivers, or other flexible accommodations.

In accordance with the Department of Defense Memorandum of Understanding (DoD MOU), 麻豆影视 A&M University-麻豆影视 complies with the requirement that all participating institutions be accredited by a national or regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. As such, 麻豆影视 A&M University-麻豆影视 is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral degrees.

The university also ensures that any new course or program offering is reviewed and approved by SACSCOC when required under the agency’s substantive change policy. This approval process must be completed prior to the enrollment of any Service member in a new course or program, in accordance with DoD MOU guidelines.

Questions regarding the accreditation status of 麻豆影视 A&M University-麻豆影视 may be directed in writing to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033-4097, by calling (404) 679-4500, or by visiting the SACSCOC website at www.sacscoc.org.
